The
NOT HERE!
Cabaret
Friday, June 23, 2017 - 8:00pm
The Not Here Cabaret came from the title of a show Christine Thomas wrote for some of her students a few years ago. That show was about wanting to be somewhere else - wanting to be “not here.”
This time around, the Not Here Cabaret is about Christine’s and Michael’s journeys from their shared roots in the Midwest to their making their homes in Baltimore, with a few stops along the way at places they’ve been, places they’d like to go, and places they have absolutely no intention of visiting (putting the NOT in Not Here), told through songs by George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Willie Nelson, Bono, Jason Robert Brown, Cy Coleman, Amanda McBroom, Irving Berlin, Frank Loesser, Goldrich & Heisler, and Milwaukee’s own Sigmund Snopek. They tell stories of traveling, of looking for home, for love, for laughs, for joy, and ultimately finding it… Here.
Join us for an entertaining night of music and stories with Christine Thomas and Michael Tan!
