Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) takes in over 12,000 dogs and cats each year and houses up to 250 adoptable animals at any given time.  Half of those animals are cats who have been rescued or abandoned and in need of a loving forever home.  Many of these furbabies have a black coat, which means they are statistically less likely to be adopted due to several factors including superstitions, religious aversions, and visibility issues in their profile pictures.  They are often overlooked, but just as deserving of love.
