DETAILS / Guidelines Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm Guidelines for Students The Basics No one goes out of the building without a member of staff (intern or instructor). No one goes anywhere in the building without a member of the staff. The administrative office and any classroms whose doors are closed are off limits. Cell phones will be not be used during class times. Cell phones will be collected before the 9:30 class start. You may check your cell phone during lunch. Parents, if you need to reach your child during the Academy, please call 410-752-1225 This is the theatre office, we will likely provide additional contact numbers. Your experience here The Academy is designed to help you improve and expand your theatre skills. If you need something - ask! If you aren't sure about something - ask! Try something new; take a risk; you're here to stretch your skills and limitations! If you think you will be embarrassed by doing something: tell us why! If you think you can't do something: tell us why! Dress code Parents/guardians: please help us enforce our dress code by bringing your students prepared. This is a theatre academy. We will be doing LOTS of physical activity, so: Dress comfortably: No skirts, no tight clothes, no tight jeans, etc. Wear shoes that protect your feet, but also allow you to move. NO flip-flops or sandals! No bulky jewelry. It's dangerous, and distracting. Lunch/food Lunch is provided for free by the Baltimore Food & Nutrition , Maryland Department of Education and the US Department of Agriculture. It is not fancy - but it is a basic and nutritious lunch. We also have a morning and afternoon snack as well. If you have dietary restrictions, please make us aware. We will make all attempts to meet your dietary needs, but it may be necessary for you to bring some lunch items from home. |
YOUNG ACTORS ACADEMY LOCATION The Academy is held at MIDTOWN ACADEMY at 1398 Mount Royal Ave in Bolton Hill. The school is located on the corner of Lafayette Street and Mt Royal Ave. It is the large Grey Stone building to RIGHT on Lafayette. (The red brick building on the corner is the rectory for Corpus Christi church.) The site is across from MICA's Brown Center - the large greenish glass building. |
