Audrey Herman  saw the possibility of Spotlighters  as a rich training ground for young artists when the theatre was first founded  50 years ago. While formal programs never took root under her tenure, numerous  actors got their very first chance to perform on the Spotlighters  stage.

Today, Spotlighters hosts a wide array of  educational programming for learners of all ages. Education is at the root of  theatre - the art of empathy and experience - and our growing programming is a  testament to the vision that Audrey held many years ago.
